CHOOSE NEIL HUDELSON for Brownsburg School Board

Championing Excellent Teachers

Hoosier teachers are some of the best in the world, and no other school exemplifies this like Brownsburg Community Schools. Unfortunately in Indiana teachers are increasingly under attack. Ambitious politicians encourage spying and censorship, new laws mandate ever increasing, often unpaid trainings with little connection to student success. We need to recruit excellent teachers, and then treat them like the compassionate, highly-skilled professionals that they are. As school board member, I will promote policies that encourage greater teacher retention and help deliver the resources our teachers need to succeed.

Fostering Greater Engagement

Our community has faced many challenges recently—from the shocking incident of two staff members abusing children, to the mysterious and sudden resignation of Superintendent Snapp, to the general challenges of managing a rapidly-growing community. Our schools continued success depends on greater engagement and clear communication with the entire Brownsburg community to tackle the many challenges and opportunities ahead.

Supporting All Students’ Success

We are one of the fastest growing school systems in Indiana. The Bulldog Class of 2034 will look different, and face more complex challenges than the class of 2024. (And consider just how complex a world our students face now!) In my career, I have seen firsthand how policies, and a school board, that supports all students, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or religion, ensures greater success for everyone. Too often in the past, some Board members have tried to empower the loudest voices in the room to create an unwelcoming environment for all students. As school board member, every Bulldog will matter.

Meet Neil.

Hoosier born and raised, Neil grew up in Orange County, Indiana, before attending Purdue University where he majored in Political Science, English Literature, and Education. He has been a nonprofit leader for more than 15 years, first at The Eliminate Project—a joint project between Kiwanis International and UNICEF to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus from the world and save millions of lives of babies and mothers. For the last 10 years Neil has been the Director of Philanthropy at the ACLU of Indiana. In that role Neil has helped fight some of the state’s most pressing civil rights battles by more than quintupling the organization’s funding and doubling it’s staff size.

He has been married for 11 years to Chelsea, his partner in life, love, and business. They are parents to two wonderful children, a daughter who is First Grader at Delaware Trails and a son who will join the Bulldogs in 2026.

Let’s do this together.
